The Mummy Returns: Meema’s Skirt
Epic fight scenes are often among the most exciting moments in action-adventure films. Thanks to modern cinematography and improved visual clarity, audiences can catch details that might have gone unnoticed in earlier movies. Sometimes, however, that level of visibility reveals a few unintended mistakes.
In The Mummy Returns (2001), one such moment occurs during the flashback battle between Nefertiri and Anck Su Namun in the presence of the Pharaoh. The fast-paced duel is visually impressive, but attentive viewers noticed what appeared to be modern underwear visible beneath one of the costumes during the sequence.
Because the film is set in Ancient Egypt, the sight of a modern undergarment felt out of place to some fans. While the costumes were designed to balance historical inspiration with the practical demands of filming action scenes, this small detail stood out as a noticeable continuity error.
Of course, the mistake does little to diminish the entertainment value of the film. The Mummy Returns remains popular for its action, adventure, and memorable characters. Still, the wardrobe oversight serves as a reminder that even in big-budget productions, tiny details can slip through the editing process and become memorable talking points for observant viewers.
